Wife vs. Husband (good jokes)

A couple drove down a country road for
several miles, not saying a
word. An earlier discussion had led to an
argument and neither of them
wanted to concede their position.

As they passed a barnyard of mules,
goats, and pigs, the husband asked
sarcastically, “Relatives of yours?
“Yep,” the wife replied, “in-laws.”

EIGHT LIES OF A MOTHER

This story begins when I was a child: I was born poor. Often we hadn’t enough to eat. Whenever we had some food, Mother often gave me her portion of rice. While she was transferring her rice into my bowl, she would say ..
“Eat this rice, son! I’m not hungry.”
This was Mother’s First Lie.

As I grew, Mother gave up her spare time to fish in a river near our house; she hoped that from the fish she caught, she could give me a little bit more nutritious food for my growth. Once she had caught just two fish, she would make fish soup. While I was eating the soup, mother would sit beside me and eat the what was still left on the bone of the fish I had eaten. My heart was touched when I saw it. Once I gave the other fish to her on mychopstick but she immediately refused it and said, ”Eat this fish, son! I don’t really like fish.”

This was Mother’s Second Lie.

Then, in order to fund my education, Mother went to a Match Factory to bring home some used matchboxes which she filled with fresh matchsticks. This helped her get some money to cover our needs. One wintry night I awoke to find Mother filling the matchboxes by candlelight. So I said, “Mother, go to sleep; it’s late: you can continue working tomorrow morning.” Mother smiled and said
“Go to sleep, son! I’m not tired”
This was Mother’s Third Lie.

When I had to sit my Final Examination, Mother accompanied me. After dawn, Mother waited for me for hours in the heat of the sun. When the bell rang, I ran to meet her. Mother embraced me and poured me a glass of tea that she had prepared in a thermos. The tea was not as strong as my Mother’s love, Seeing Mother covered with perspiration, I at once gave her my glass and asked her to drink too. Mother said ..
“Drink, son! I’m not thirsty!”.
This was Mother’s Fourth Lie.

After Father’s death, Mother had to play the role of a single parent. She held on to her former job; she had to fund our needs alone. Our family’s life was more complicated. We suffered from starvation. Seeing our family’s condition worsening, my kind Uncle who lived near my house came to help us solve our problems big and small. Our other neighbors saw that we were poverty stricken so they often advised my mother to marry again. But Mother refused to remarry saying..
“I don’t need love!”
This was Mother’s Fifth Lie.

After I had finished my studies and gotten a job, it was time for my old Mother to retire but she carried on going to the market every morning just to sell a few vegetables. I kept sending her money but she was steadfast and even sent the money back to me. She said, ”I have enough money!”
That was Mother’s Sixth Lie.

I continued my part-time studies for my Master’s Degree. Funded by the American Corporation for which I worked, I succeeded in my studies. With a big jump in my salary, I decided to bring Mother to enjoy life in America but Mother didn’t want to bother her son; she said to me … ”I’m not used to high living!”
That was Mother’s Seventh Lie.

In her dotage, Mother was attacked by cancer and had to be hospitalized. Now living far across the ocean, I went home to visit Mother who was bedridden after an operation. Mother tried to smile but I was heartbroken because she was so thin and feeble but Mother said, ”Don’t cry, son! I’m not in pain!”
That was Mother’s Eighth Lie.

Telling me this, her eighth lie, she died …
YES, MOTHER WAS AN ANGEL!

M - O - T - H - E - R

“M” is for the Million things she gave me
“O” means Only that she’s growing old
“T” is for the Tears she shed to save me
“H” is for her Heart of gold
“E” is for her Eyes with love-light shining in them
“R” means Right, and right she’ll always be, Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER” a word that means the world to me.

For those of you who are lucky to be still blessed with your Mom’s presence on Earth, this story is beautiful. For those who aren’t so blessed, this is even more beautiful.

Are you drinking the right tea?

1. People who use their 'brain' to work or students who study hard day
and night.
--- Should drink more Chrysanthemum Tea.
2. People who need a lot of body energy to work or those people who
exercise a lot everyday.
--- Should drink Wu Loong Tea.
3. People who travel on a bike or work in dirty and polluted places.
--- Should drink Green Tea.
4. For people who like to sit down all day long and not do anything,
even exercising
--- Must drink Green Tea and Flower Tea.
5. People who smoke and drink a lot of alcoholic drinks.
--- Should drink more Green Tea.
6. Carnivore ( i.e. people who must eat meat at least once a day, or
feel sickly)
--- Try to drink some Wu Loong Tea.
7. People who go to the washroom too often or not often enough.
--- Should drink more Honey Tea
8. People with high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
--- Wu Loong Tea, Green Tea.
9. Those who work with computers everyday.
--- Need to drink a Lot of Tea (any tea will do).
Whenever you are working with the computer, you should make some tea,
drink it when you are free.
Drinking Tea is healthy, it can protect and prevent the harmful
Ultraviolet light from harming us (when using computer).
Furthermore, it can also relief us when we are tired and help make our
body feel fresh again.

SOYA BEAN
All of us know that soyabean drink provides good protein to our body...
but many of us don't know that there are certain days we should avoid
drinking it.
Soya bean drinks are best consumed on hot sunny days when the sun is
strong. The soya milk will give lots of nutrients to the body as the
body is able to absorb the protein well.
However, avoid the drink when the weather is cloudy or raining. Taking
the drink in those weather, the body will not be able to take in the
protein and will result in a disease called 'GOUT' or 'high acidic
urine' due to the high protein residue in the body, after a long run.
This disease will cause pain to your knee joints and it will only be in
control when you control your food intake of proteins and medication.
The pain is unbearable and usually you will have no idea what you have
taken to cause the pain. Food like soya beans, anchovies, broccoli,
spinach, peanuts, & esp animal organs ( i.e. pork liver) etc will have to
be
avoided to prevent the pain from attacking.
So my friend, keep an alert on the pros and cons of soya bean milk and
when it is to be taken
and to be avoided.

沒錯,你怎麼對別人,別人就怎麼對你;

套句詩人奧登( W.H.Auden )的話:

當你帶給別人歡樂,你就會得到歡樂; 帶給別人祝福,你就會得到別人的祝福;

凡你想給予自己的經驗,就給予別人;

要了解,也要開解;要道歉,也要道謝;
要認錯,也要改錯;要體貼,也要體諒;
是接受,而不是忍受;是寬容,而不是縱容;
是支持,而不是支配;是慰問,而不是質問;
是傾訴,而不是控訴;是難忘,而不是遺忘;

Lawak: Ayam panggang (In Malay)

By Lang

Razak pergi ke sebuah restoran
kegemarannya dan memesan ayam panggang
seekor..Beberapa minit kemudian
pesanannya sampai... Tapi sedang dia
menikmatinya makanannya.. pelayan yang
lain menghampirinya dan berkata..

"Maaf, Encik... Itu sebenarnya pesanan
lelaki yang ada di

sana
itu. Dan ini
merupakan stok ayam terakhir yang kami
ada... Maaf ya Encik."
Razak menoleh ke arah lelaki yang
ditunjuk, ternyata badannya besar dan
gagah.. lalu berkata,"Kerana terlanjur
sudah makan sedikit..jadi ayam ini milik
saya. lagi pun saya juga membayarnya."

Sementara si pelayan restoran nampak
kebingungan, lelaki gagah tadi dengan
wajah marah sambil membawa pisau
menghampiri Razak.

"Hai budak.. jangan sentuh lagi..!!
Apapun yang akan engkau lakukan terhadap
ayam itu akan aku lakukan juga terhadap
engkau. Kalau kau potong kakinya, aku
akan potong kaki engkau. Kalau engkau
potong perutnya, aku akan potong juga
perutmu. Pendek cerita.. apapun yang
engkau lakukan, akan aku lakukan juga
pada engkau."

Razak terdiam beberapa minit.. lalu
perlahan-lahan Dia mengangkat ayamnya,
membawa ke mulutnya dan menjilat bontot
ayam tersebut...

Bali - Bedugul(Ulundanu Temple) Pictures

Indonesia - Bali - Bedugul (Ulundanu Temple). Pictures taken in 2006.

The Ulundanu Temple of Bedugul is located on lake Beratan in the village of Candikuning in the north of Bali. Because the lake is an essential water source for surrounding farmlands, the people of Bedugul honor Dewl'tanu, goddess of the waters, in the temple UluDanu on a small promontory on the lake. The lake is surrounded by rainforest, and the climate is cool here. It is often shrouded in mist. Lake Bratan is so lovely that it is easy to forget the surrounding forest-clad mountains.
